Radium Hot Springs, BC
Bighorn Meadows Resort offers the perfect home base for outdoor adventure. Minutes from Lake Windermere, you can experience the Guinness World-Record-holding longest skating path in the world with the Lake Windermere Whiteway. Additionally, the Columbia Valley offers some of the best skiing and boarding in the world. Located within a one-hour drive to four popular ski resorts and a two-and-a-half-hour drive to several more. Soak up winter adventure then return to Radium for an apres-ski soak in the hot springs, a glass of wine and a cozy fire in your suite at Bighorn Meadows.
Harrison Hot Springs, BC
Harrison Hot Springs may appear to be a fairly small, secluded community, but it is in fact surrounded by restaurants, arts and craft galleries, shops, farmer’s markets, book stores, libraries, and cultural opportunities.
Choose the scenic route as you make your way along the Circle Farm Tour between Agassiz and Harrison Mills. The tours are self-guided, meaning you in your own car, at your own speed to each location and choose your own selection of farms to visit. Stops along the way include a cheesemaker, coffee roaster, and farm stalls. COVID-19 safety options include a drive-through corn barn and egg vending machine.
Additionally, the relatively mild temperatures in the winter allow for exploration of the many parks, hiking trails and beaches within minutes of the hotel.
Regional and provincial parks offer incredible forests, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, mountains and beaches. Renowned. Cathedral Grove offers one of the most accessible stands of giant Douglas-fir trees in BC. Some of these giants are over 800 years old, and walking the trails through this virgin coastal forest can be quite an inspirational experience. Milner Gardens and Woodlands offers 70 acres of unspoiled natural beauty perched on the edge of an oceanside bluff overlooking the Strait of Georgia.
Both Sooke Harbour Resort & Marina and SookePoint Ocean Cottage Resort have you just minutes away from world-class fishing. Professional guides working out of the Marina at Sooke Harbour can customize a perfect day out for you and your cohort, regardless of skill level. Home to trophy salmon and monster halibut a fishing trip in Sooke could include bonus wildlife sightings of otters, seals, eagles, sea lions, dolphins, porpoises and pods of whales.
In addition to fishing, Sooke offers endless miles of beaches and gorgeous hiking trails in Sooke Pothole Provincial Park and East Sooke Regional Park.
