CANADA 150 CONTEST WINNER: Harrison Beach Hotel Trip

 In Uncategorized

Connie Sparrow won the True Key Canada 150 contest back in 2018 and has had the opportunity to visit almost all of the True Key properties through the prize. She was able to complete her final stay recently which was at the Harrison Beach Hotel, read all about her experience below!

True Key’s Harrison Beach Hotel provides ideal accommodation and is perfectly located as a base from which to explore Harrison Hot Springs and vicinity.

When I travel I want  to experience new sensations, views and activities that shake up my usual pace of life. Yet, I want to feel ‘at home’ while I am away from home!  During our recent stay, the spacious Junior Suite at the Harrison Beach Hotel – with its  combination living space and kitchen/dining area,  separate bedroom area (the bed was luxuriously comfortable), plus spacious patio area with vista-views over Harrison Lake and the beachfront, marina and  recreation areas – offered my husband and I all the comforts of home. Set above street level in the heart of Harrison Hot Springs, the central location offers immediate access to restaurants, shopping and sight-seeing amenities as well as to activities such as biking, swimming, beachcombing, boating, fishing, and water and adventure sports. Perfect for us! Manager Tara Ryder and all of the Harrison Beach Hotel staff were welcoming, professional, and helpful.

As a destination, Harrison Hot Springs provides options for everyone, whatever the weather, and across all the seasons: relaxation and/or adventure, festivals and seasonal celebrations, nature explorations, local artisans, farm tours and shopping for locally produced food products.  Parks and forest reserves are accessible and offer scenic views and opportunities to explore forest paths and hiking trails. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound:  salmon and bald eagle preserves, beaver ponds, deer, and more! The terrain is amazing in its variety: majestic snow-topped mountains, graceful foothills, waterfalls, scenic sunsets, lakes and rivers, lush farmland, and livestock grazing in pastoral settings. There are also art galleries, museums and heritage sites, adventure parks, and adjacent towns and communities to enjoy.

In addition to vacationing at the Harrison Beach Hotel on ‘the mainland’ of British Columbia, and through the generosity of True Key Hotels & Resorts (in relation to my participation in their innovative ‘Canada 150’ photo competition), I have stayed at several of True Key’s Vancouver Island properties: the Sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort (Parksville), the Sooke Harbour Resort & Marina (Sooke), and Moutcha Bay Resort (Nootka Sound). Each of these properties provides superb and extremely well-appointed accommodation and services. I hope to experience True Key’s Bighorn Meadows Resort in the future, when luck or good planning support a journey to Radium Hot Springs. Word of mouth tells me it is a fabulous destination!

I recall my stay at  Harrison Beach Hotel with great satisfaction and affection. I look forward to a return visit! –Connie
