Accommodations
Campsite
Being the only land-based resort, Moutcha Bay has a variety of accommodation options for outdoors lovers. For guests taking the ‘wilderness’ route, the 28-site campground is spacious enough for tents and RVs alike, has full hook-ups available and is near washhouses with well-maintained flush toilets and hot showers. Each campsite is unique, with your selection of waterfront or wilderness sites. Regardless of which location you choose, both children and adults can enjoy nightly campfires (pending fire restrictions), making delicious smores and telling campfires stories – memories that’ll stick with them like the marshmallows to their fingers.
Luxury and Mini Yurts
Moutcha Bay Resort’s unique Luxury and Mini Yurts come complete with comfortable beds, private barbecues and a wrap-around balcony with stunning seaside views! We recently hosted celebrity blogger Jillian Harris and her family in one of our Luxury Yurts and they said it was the perfect size for her husband and two children. These west-coast-themed Yurts can fit four guests comfortably and include a pull-out couch for additional guests. These unique yurts bring a whole new meaning to coastal luxury and are sure to add to a fond family memory you won’t soon forget.
Lodge Suites
Our Lodge Suites are an excellent option for groups like family reunions or mature families. These main lodge suites are two stories with various room sizes that range from double occupancy to larger group-sized suites and can accommodate up to seven adult guests. Each features ensuite bathrooms and shower facilities as well as fantastic views from balconies overlooking the bay.
Oceanside Chalets
Wake up to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore below your balcony. If the soothing sound of the waves doesn’t captivate you, the unparalleled views of the ocean will. Our Oceanside Chalets are a family-friendly option for those who are looking to be self-sufficient. Each chalet has two doubles, one queen, and one pull-out bed, a bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen, and all the supplies you need to feel at home with the kiddies.
Activities Offered
Our resort welcomes kids all year, ensuring we have all-season activities to keep them entertained and you relaxed. While you’re driving to Moutcha Bay Resort, we recommend visiting the Upana Caves, which is a great place to stop and visit with the kids. This historic Nootka Sound area is home to countless hiking and ATV trails, gorgeous cave systems, well-maintained boardwalks and the walkable villages of Gold River and Tahsis. Be sure to bring sturdy footwear and a headlamp as it can be dim and damp in the cave systems. No adult too old and no child too serious, the moment you whiz down the zipline at the campsite playground we promise you’ll be smiling so much your cheeks will hurt!
Explore the open seas by kayak and SUP board! We also offer 18’ aluminum rental boats that are fully equipped for fishing. Join us and embark on a guided two or four-hour sea kayaking tour, guided salmon & halibut fishing charters, wildlife & heritage boat tours and more. Our marina makes it easy to just ‘get up and go,’ complete with a fuel dock, fully-stocked dock shack (stocked with coffee and breakfast sandwiches for early morning anglers – or tired toddlers), rental boats, moorage slips and a fleet of beautiful guide boats. Spend some quality family time teaching your young ones how to fish, or simply enjoy the views from the water – or both, like Justin Pasutto!
After working up an appetite, visit our on-site restaurant led by Executive Chef William Lew, who came to us from the Fairmont Hotels. The Conuma Grill features modern, west-coast fare, focusing on sustainability and the array of fresh ingredients right at our fingertips. You’ll find local craft beer for the craft beer enthusiast, a hand-selected list of BC wines and of course, chocolate milk for the little ones. We are always happy to welcome children at the Conuma Grill! We want you to feel right at home, so our Kid’s Menu has an assortment of nutritious, kid-friendly options that have been thoughtfully created for your family by our Executive Chef. No need to compromise tastiness for nutrition!
